Hands On Development

Cirkewwa, Malta
25/03/2025 - 30/03/2025

What was the main topic of the project?

Ksenija Akimova - Development in youth work, volunteering, sustainable development goals. Also, we learned about the research that was done previously on youth work and motivation.

Triin Tallo - The whole project taught us how to start with a project from the bottom, how to implement it and "sell" it.

Eveli Kera - To learn about SDG-s and how to use them at youthwork.

What were the biggest learning moments of the event for you?

Ksenija Akimova - Probably the outcomes of the research related to motivation in young people and what we can improve to engage more youth in volunteering.

Triin Tallo - This project showed me some new points of view how to approach certain situations and how to include young people even more. I really liked the research since it showed what we are actually lacking of.

Eveli Kera - I enjoyed learning about SDGs because they help us understand the world's biggest challenges and how we can contribute to making a positive change. By learning about them, we can make better decisions in our daily lives and work together to create a better future for everyone.

Do you have any plans to continue being active in the field? If yes, in which way?

Ksenija Akimova - Definitely yes! I am very passionate about youth work and truly enjoy working on projects so I am looking for all possible opportunities to explore this field.

Triin Tallo - I see myself working with young people and am trying to find a way how to support and help them to grow.

Eveli Kera - We will do a project with the team we were in Malta, which includes at least one SDG. We plan to create a project that introduces young people to different opportunities for starting as a volunteer.

Would you recommend this experience to your friends? If yes, why? If no, why not?

Ksenija Akimova - Yes! This training course was a perfect combination between skilled trainers, interactive activities and one of the most beautiful places in the world-Malta.

Triin Tallo - Of course I would! :) It's not only for learning about the topic but also you can see country and get to know different cultures. Do not forget mention the network and chance to travel around the world :)

Eveli Kera - Yes, I would recommend it because taking such training courses gives a lot: gives new knowledge, and you can have many wonderful new friends and connections from diffirent countrys. You also get many ideas to apply in the future.

Other comments or anything else you would like to share? You can answer in your mother tongue, if you want!

Triin Tallo - I am really grateful for having experiences like that. Sometimes projects are not only eye opening about the world but also about myself.

This Project was financed by European Commission’s Erasmus + Programme
