Noored Ühiskonna Heaks (NYH) is promoting a call for participants for a Youth Exchange called “From Screens to Skills: Equipping Youth for Lifelong Learning and Media Literacy” which will take place from the 07th until the 15th of November 2024 in Bucharest, Romania.
About the Project: In today’s interconnected world, teenagers are immersed in a digital landscape that profoundly shapes their lives. From social media to online learning, technology offers countless opportunities for growth, connection and exploration. However, it’s essential to recognize the potential challenges and pitfalls associated with excessive screen time and uncritical consumption of online content. This youth exchange will explore the multifaceted relationship between teenagers and technology. We’ll approach topics such as: Learning to Learn; Critical Thinking and Media Literacy; Digital Citizenship. Youth exchange will propose non-formal education activities such as interviews, design thinking, brainstorming, videos, world cafe, music, storytelling, open space, and facilitated discussions aimed to fulfill the objectives.
Goal:
This youth exchange aims to equip teenagers with the essential skills to thrive in the digital age. By fostering critical thinking, lifelong learning, and media literacy, participants will develop the ability to evaluate information critically, navigate the digital landscape responsibly and become active and informed global citizens.
Objectives:
- Enhance Participants’ Understanding of Effective Learning Strategies;
- Develop Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills in a Digital Context;
- Foster Collaborative Learning and Digital Competence.
Participants profile:
- Age: 15-18 years old. No age limit for the group leader.
- Participants can be high school students, involved in volunteering activities, engaged in the community, interested in the future of technology and learning.
The Erasmus + Programme will cover 100% of the accommodation, food and activities and will reimburse 100% of the travel costs for the participants – up to 309 EUR. There are 5 vacancies available. There will be a participation fee of 40 EUR per participant.
