Name of the project: “H2EVOLUTION” Youth Exchange
Date: 30th of April – 9th May, 2024
City/Country: Recoaro Terme, Italy
What was the main topic of the project?
Hevenli Kaškin – Water and a man.
Lisanna Noortoots – Water.
Laura Teder – The main topic of this project was the importance of water.
Anett Kereme – The main topic was Water and how important it is to us. We learnt about water in Recoaro and saw how different areas use it differently.
Tristan Priit Allik – Man and water.
Jannar Laar – Water.
What were the biggest learning moments of the event for you?
Hevenli Kaškin – That everything doesn’t go as planned.
Lisanna Noortoots – The discovery that even in small mountain villages people live a normal life. I’m used to having everything I need right at hand in everyday life. During the project, I realized that there are many people who live in small villages in the mountains or simply in a single house in the middle of nowhere. They also have a normal life, it doesn’t matter that it can be quite different from mine. While hiking, it was really cool to see people, who have to climb mountains every day to get home. Respect to them:))
Laura Teder – Getting to know people from different countries and learning about their culture and themselves, also through that getting to know myself better.
Anett Kereme – I learnt a lot about the Hydroelectric power station and how important water is in Recoaro Terme.
Tristan Priit Allik – How to and not to organise an Erasmus project and practise about different activities.
Jannar Laar – I really enjoyed taking part of our hikes and i liked one day someone came ( I don’t remember the name ) but he made a game for us which had interesting questions about water.
Do you have any plans to c0ntinue being active in the field? If yes, in which way?
Hevenli Kaškin – Not really.
Lisanna Noortoots – There are no definite plans, but water engineering, for example, seems like a field that would be exciting to learn about in depth.
Laura Teder – Yes, I’d love to participate in other Erasmus+ projects.
Anett Kereme – Yes, i would love to take part in more project and tell others about my experience. Maybe one day even write my own project .
Tristan Priit Allik – I plan to countinue going to Erasmus projects, if the question meant if i’ll be active in the water field then i’d say no.
Jannar Laar – Yes! I’d love to continue my streak on Erasmus+ youth exchanges and make good relations with organizations!
Would you recommend this experience to your friends? If yes, why? If no, why not?
Hevenli Kaškin – No, the organizing was actually not the best. Everybody got sick because they made us walk in the pouring rain and we didn’t have the possibility to dry our clothes.
Lisanna Noortoots – I definitely recommend this project to my friend who like hiking and spending time in nature. Most of the activities took place outdoors, there was a lot of hiking in the mountains. It was a good opportunity to get to know Italian nature and its animal inhabitants. Also learn about history, culture and folklore.
Laura Teder – Yes, because it gives you an opportunity to see the world, meet new people and learn new things.
Anett Kereme – Yes I absolutely would. It is an amazing way to improve talking skills and make loads of International friends. Also i learnt a lot about other cultures and became more social.
Tristan Priit Allik – This particular experience maybe not, it did not match the expectations and if you are looking to learn something about the field then no, if you want a free vacation then yes.
Jannar Laar – This experience was a bit different comparing it with my other previous projects, the organizing and management were way different and it was a bit confusing and i’d say it wasn’t really and youth exchange to be true, and i really didn’t learn basically anything at all! But we had lovely hikes and from that side i’d recommend but surely for the ones it was the first project, i can say it definitely wasn’t the best first impression for them!
Other comments or anything else you would like to share? You can answer in your mother tongue, if you want!
Lisanna Noortoots – Before taking part in this project, it should be taken into account that there will be a lot of hiking and the weather may not be the most pleasant. Regardless, it’s a super cool experience with lots of bright memories. After all, it’s not bad weather, it’s just the wrong clothing.
Tristan Priit Allik – I would like to say that i am bit unhappy with how the project turned out. I was hoping to expand my knowledge in the area but failed to do so (There were only hikes and icebreakers), although it was very fun to meet different people from different countries. Little bit more free time would be appreciated. Otherwise, i really enjoyed hiking and although i didn’t learn about the subject it was still very enjoyable. It was fun to hang out with the Finns and visit the bunkers and other interesting places.
Jannar Laar – I loved Italy but the project wasn’t really what i expected, it turned out it’ll suit better under the name of a Hiking camp or so!
