Noored Ühiskonna Heaks (NYH) is promoting a call for participants for a Youth Exchange called “Voices of the Next Generation” which will take place from the 14th until the 21st July 2024 in Parnu, Estonia.
About the Project:
In contemporary Europe, the cultivation of debate skills and advocacy holds paramount significance in the realm of youth work. Debating equips young individuals with the ability to articulate their thoughts coherently, fostering critical thinking and enhancing their capacity to engage in informed discussions. As Europe faces a myriad of social, economic, and environmental challenges, the youth must be equipped with the skills to analyze complex issues, present well-reasoned arguments, and actively participate in democratic processes. The cultivation of debate skills empowers the younger generation to contribute meaningfully to public discourse, promoting a culture of informed decision-making and civic responsibility.
Moreover, advocacy skills play a pivotal role in enabling youth to address societal issues and influence positive change. In the diverse and interconnected landscape of Europe, young advocates can amplify their voices to champion causes such as social justice, environmental sustainability, and human rights. The ability to advocate effectively not only empowers young people to express their concerns but also fosters a sense of agency and responsibility. By honing advocacy skills, youth workers in Europe can inspire a generation of informed and engaged citizens who actively contribute to shaping a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable future for the continent. In this dynamic context, the fusion of debate skills and advocacy not only enhances individual growth but also serves as a catalyst for positive societal transformation.

Knowledge/skills:
Public speaking, persuasion, advocacy skills, understanding of European values and making their own opinion of pros and cons of different approaches how to tackle different issues relevant to these values and issues and engagement in active citizenship.
Profile of Participants:
– 18-25 years old (participants with fewer opportunities could be 18-30 years old)
– Highly interested in debate and communication skills
The Erasmus + Programme will cover 100% of the accommodation, food and activities and will reimburse 100% of the travel costs for the participants – up to 20 EUR. There are 3 vacancies available. There will be a participation fee of 20 EUR per participant.
