Noored Ühiskonna Heaks (NYH) is promoting calls for participants for European Solidarity Corps (ESC) short-term team volunteering project which means creating connections between countries and people in Siena, Italy.

About the project:

Cultural routes are a precious asset of the European Cultural Heritage. They create connections between countries and people, encourage mutual knowledge and physical activity, and promote the spreading of associated cultural contents.

However, they need regular and dedicated maintenance in order to be available for walkers and riders all year round. In Trail Angels, teams of volunteers coming mostly from Northern Europe will be hosted in Tuscany to take care of the Via Francigena, one of the oldest and most important and famous of the European Cultural Routes.

Each team will cooperate in the ordinary maintenance of one single part of the Tuscan via until the entirety of this beautiful cultural heritage is restored for pilgrims and tourists alike to walk on it again.

You will live in Convento San Francesco, located in Colle di Val d’El sa, a town in Siena with 21.346 people.

The idea is to move together as the days go by around the other towns, as you help, walk, and of cour se, learn more about the Italian culture and the beautiful Tuscany.

We are going to s tart our road in San Gimignano and we will finish in Monteriggioni.

Participant profile:

18-30 years old

All the volunteers are provided with accommodation. Pocket money: 150 euros per month. Food: 150 euros per month. Travel expenses: according to the calculated distance.
