KOOLITUS
Name of the project: “Mirror mirror” Training Course
Date: 15th – 22th January 2024
City/Country: Malaga, Spain
What was the main topic of the project?
Kristiina Kivimäe – Feminism.
Lili-Ann Bürkland – Feminism and social media.
Sandra Tarve – It was a training course about about feminism, gender equality and social media.
What were the biggest learning moments of the event for you?
Kristiina Kivimäe – How people from different countries can have so similar interest (traveling, doing projects, learning new things) and how it helps to find connections and build friendships.
Lili-Ann Bürkland – I got to hear and learn about gender equality and how it is or isn’t supported in different European countries. I also had a chance to discuss how gender biases and stereotypes are portrayed on social media.
Sandra Tarve – We found out what the situation is in other European countries regarding feminism and gender equality, we also analyzed the Estonian situation in relation to feminism and gender equality. It definitely taught me to see the bigger picture in life.
Do you have any plans to continue being active in the field? If yes, in which way?
Kristiina Kivimäe – No.
Lili-Ann Bürkland – I know I am going to work with youth in my future so I definitely plan to keep what I learned in mind so I can’t teach them more about gender equality and Erasmus+ opportunities.
Sandra Tarve – Yes, I will certainly share with others the knowledge that I gained from this training course, as I think it is important to be aware and know, for example, about stereotypes related to feminism and gender equality.
Would you recommend this experience to your friends? If yes, why? If no, why not?
Kristiina Kivimäe – Yes, I really recommend going to training courses to learn new things, meet new people and learn new things about ourselves.
Lili-Ann Bürkland –Yes, because it is a wonderful way to get out of your comfort zone and to learn more deeply about different issues in Europe and how to talk about them to youth.
Sandra Tarve – Yes, definitely. Erasmus training course will widen your horizons, opens your mind and being a part of another culture will make you much more tolerant. Because every culture has something new to teach you and also gives you an opportunity to make international connections.
Other comments or anything else you would like to share? You can answer in your mother tongue, if you want!
Kristiina Kivimäe – It was really good experience, thank you for helping to organize it! 🙂
Lili-Ann Bürkland – No.
Sandra Tarve – Thank you so much! I really enjoyed the training course, it was the best and our instructor was a real specialist in that field.
