Noored Ühiskonna Heaks (NYH) is promoting a call for participants for a Itinerant Youth Exchange called “Voices of the next generation” which will take place from the 15th until the 24th of April 2024 in Czech Republic and Belgium.
About the Project:
This youth exchange is itinerant, first 5 days participants will spend in the Czech Republic getting their knowledge about the roles and functions of the European parliament and simulating the process of ep election – having assigned a country they represent, grouping into political parties based on their ideologies, creating programme, voting during election process, but they will also simulate what is happening right after the elections – forming political composition of the new parliament, electing a new president of the European parliament and new president of the European commission. Then all participants of this ye will travel together by overnight sleeping train from Prague to Brussels. It is a very convenient and comfortable way to get there and it also promotes sustainable traveling. Participants will spend 2 days there, visiting parlamentarium in the heart of Europe – brussels, complementing their ye experience with an interactive journey through European history and integration, how laws are made and why European politics matter.
Aim and Objectives:
The aim of this youth exchange is to equip young people with the knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of members of the European parliament and the commission president, the structure of political parties and the European council, and to provide hands-on experience of the European parliament election process.
The objectives are:
To educate young people on the responsibilities and duties of members of the European parliament and the commission president, as well as the structure of political parties and the European council. To provide an interactive and engaging learning experience through a simulation of the European parliament election process and a campaign before the election. To give oung people the opportunity to understand the decision-making process and to put their knowledge into practice through the simulation. To enhance the participants’ understanding of the European parliament election process and to provide them with the skills to participate in future elections. To foster a sense of active citizenship and political participation among young people. To create a platform for young people from different European countries to come together, discuss and learn about the European parliament and election process. To strengthen the connection between young people and the European parliament through a visit to the parlamentarium in Brussels.
Profile of Participants:
5 participants (4 young people + 1 group leader) from each partner country who are:
– 18-25 years old (participants with fewer opportunities could be 18-30 years old)
– Highly interested in the topic of the project and want to address the issues
– Group leaders age of 18+ (or young people aspiring to) who wants to deepen their individual competences.
Financial Conditions:
Accommodation and food: 100% covered by Erasmus+ programme. Maximum reimbursement could be from Estonia to Czech Republic and from Belgium to Estonia 230 eur.
Transport from Blansko to Brussels is provided by the organizers.
Participants will arrange only 1-way ticket from Estonia to Blansko and then another 1-way ticket from Brussels to Estonia.
The Erasmus + Programme will cover 100% of the accommodation, food and activities and will reimburse 100% of the travel costs for the participants – up to 230 EUR. There are 5 vacancies available. There will be a participation fee of 40 EUR per participant.
