Name of the project: “M.U.S.E. – Music Uproots Stereotypes and Exclusion” Youth Exchange
Date: 10th – 22nd August 2023
City/Country: Stratoni, Greece
What was the main topic of the event?
Adriana Loginova –Indroduction to the music world, improving the skills of singing and playing musical instruments, studying musical notation, singing in the choir and ensemble.
Triin Tallo – It was all about music – how to create songs, how to make music instruments, music videos etc.
Karl Aaron Adson – Musical education and breaking stereotypes.
Mark-Emil Luik – Music and culture.
Markus Meinhart Rego – Music and how it connects people from different social and cultural backgrounds.
What were the biggest learning moments of the event for you?
Adriana Loginova –M.U.S.E. Festival at the end of the project.
Triin Tallo – Understood how much time and effort it takes in order to make a music video/song. Learnt a lot about myself as a leader, as a group member and as a person. Understood what are my needs and how to cope with different kind of situations.
Karl Aaron Adson – Musical theory and how it applies in practice.
Mark-Emil Luik – That being a professional musician does not mean you are good and being an amateur does not mean you are bad.
Markus Meinhart Rego – For me the biggest learning moment was that people’s attitude towards music is always the same, no matter the country or background. Music is truly the one universal language that everyone can understand and relate to, despite all the differences we might have.
Do you have any plans to continue being active in the field? If yes, in which way?
Adriana Loginova – I would like to create a band, write my own music and sing.
Triin Tallo – Yes, would like to go other project like this again.
Karl Aaron Adson – Will start practicing my guitar and maybe singing.
Mark-Emil Luik – Yes, I will continue learning music and hope to create some myself!
Markus Meinhart Rego – As the project was about music, it really inspired me to continue mastering my guitar skills. It would be amazing to write my very own song one day.
Would you recommend this experience to your friends? If yes, why? If no, why not?
Adriana Loginova –YES!!! This project gave me an inspiration. All we create matters and i would love to visit more projects about creativity and self-confidence.
Triin Tallo – Yes, totally! You make a lots of new contacts, having fun and at the same time learning about a topic and yourself. Specially when you don’t know what to do in your life, it’s perfect opportunity to take new path and follow that. Getting new ideas and inspiration to make something beautiful, something different.
Karl Aaron Adson – Yes because it was an interesting learning period with people I otherwise would’ve never met.
Mark-Emil Luik -I would recommend it to friends – the organizing was terrible and the conditions there as well, but the experience was worth it.
Markus Meinhart Rego – Absolutely. In these projects you will make a lot of friends from different European countries and learn a lot of things about their cultures that you’ve otherwise might never learn. Additionally, this kind of projects will always inspire further self development on the topic of the project.
Other comments or anything else you would like to share? You can answer in your mother tongue if you want!
