The volunteers in this class will play the role of Montessori assistant, taking care of the care and order of the materials and accompanying the most basic needs of the children. In the group of Crocodiles (6-8 years old) and Koalas (9-12 years old), the work with the materials is through the ©Magea Method, a methodology of its own in which learning takes place through manipulable materials. The work of the volunteers will be to assist the children, providing them with the materials they will need according to the tutor’s guidance.
- Support in the creation of pedagogical material for the Magea method, through its “image bank”. The Magea teaching and learning model is based on interaction with self-created manipulable materials. Many of them are made with images and text cards. The role of volunteers will be to search for specific images in an image bank and then to lay out the cards and expand the range of teaching materials.
