NOORTEVAHETUS
Name of the project: “Green it Up!’’ Youth Exchange
Date: 14th November – 23rd November 2022
City/Country: Merine, Italy.
What was the main topic of the event?
Anastassia Mordassova – Environmental awareness and sustainability
Helen Mitt – Sustainabilty and sustainable lifestyle
Hlib Bondarenko – Green project
Igor Atsberger – Ecology
Roman Matvejev – Ecology
What were the biggest learning moments of the event for you?
Anastassia Mordassova – How much food and other things actually contains in plastic, we discussed it on the example of our chefs who collected all the plastic trash for the period we stayed there and it turned out to be way more than expected, despite we were eating only vegetarian food. Also the debate about globalisation was interesting.
Helen Mitt – I think for me the communication exercises we did, for example active listening. Opened my eyes in terms of quality conversations and deeper connections with people.
Hlib Bondarenko – Each day learning sustainability
Igor Atsberger – Plastic waste
Roman Matvejev – Cleaning up the streets is really fun way to spend a free time with your friends
Do you have any plans to continue being active in the field? If yes, in which way?
Anastassia Mordassova – I would like to continue researching about the topic and probably do it more for the personal goal, for example, I decided to eat more vegetarian food, and if I go shopping next time I would do it consciously. Also next time I would love to take part in the “Teeme ära” organised cleanup events.
Helen Mitt – The practices we learned in the project are easily transferred to my daily life, so if not anything else, i will definitely upgrade my own personal lifestyle.
Hlib Bondarenko – I will follow a lot of rules I studied in project as consumption or separation of garbage
Igor Atsberger – Yes, propogate green lifestyle in camp where i work
Roman Matvejev – Yes, sorting garbage
Would you recommend this experience to your friends? If yes, why? If no, why not?
Anastassia Mordassova – I would recommend it for sure. Since it was my first ever project, I felt grateful to have this opportunity. Even if they are not totally interested in the topic or in the field, it is important to be active and have the desire to learn from others, because all the people on the projects are nice and the atmosphere is friendly.
Helen Mitt – Yes, for sure, it’s a great way to get connected with the world and its wonderful people.
Hlib Bondarenko – I’ll recommend this project to my friends to rise their understanding of consumptions
Igor Atsberger – Yes, to meet foreigners
Roman Matvejev – Yes, it was really fun week
