KOOLITUS
Name of the project: “Change places, change lives” Training Course
Date: 13th till 21th December 2021
City/Country: Velden am Wörthersee, Austria
What was the main topic of the event?
Carol Väljaots – Migration
Julia Davõdova – Migration.
What was the biggest learning moments on the event for you?
Carol Väljaots – My biggest learning moment was that people come from very different places and they have different reasons and stories behind that. Also that there are many different words behind migration that a lot of people misuse.
Julia Davõdova – Don’t let yourself be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Leaving the comfort zone provided the most experience and knowledge. I’m afraid to imagine what would have happened, if I had not had to do this. Leaving your comfort zone seemed to open you up to the world, give you the opportunity to receive more and more information, gave you the opportunity to try new things and did not allow you to turn back.
Do you have any plans to continue active in the field? If yes, what?
Carol Väljaots – Yes, I will continue participating in different projects by Noored Ühiskonna Heaks because it opens my mind to new things and I can talk about topics like migration in a more confident way.
Julia Davõdova – Definitely yes! The project gave me the opportunity to acquire new knowledge that I can’t live unshared with others. Already after returning home, I shared my impressions and knowledge with my family and friends. The project destroyed my stereotypes, prejudices, and now I can contribute to the destruction of the prejudices of others.
Would you recommend it to your friends? I yes, why? If not, why not?
Carol Väljaots – YES. Projects like this change peoples perspective and I think in todays world it’s more than important.
Julia Davõdova – Yes-yes-yes, it was an unforgettable experience. I had the opportunity to communicate with like-minded people who dream of changing the world in small steps. I had the opportunity to learn more cultures, make new friends and gain knowledge. After the project, I felt fulfilled. I felt my desire to share new knowledge and motivate others to take part in international trainings and projects. I wish everyone that opportunity.
