What was the main topic of the event?
Priit Amer – The main topic was to figure out & understand the role of a mentor & how it is different from supervisor’s…
Daria Filatova – Mentors and Supervisors for volunteers

What was the biggest learning moments on the event for you?
Priit Amer – I suppose me biggest learning moment was to finally realize the role & the importance of mentoring, as I was an ESC volunteer, but could’ve probably gotten a lot more of an experience had I had an experienced mentor & that’s something I realized there, as I didn’t turn enough attention towards it back then when I was volunteering…
Daria Filatova – I understood the differences between mentors and supervisors. Also, we found some ideas on how to help mentors be better in their mentorship.

 

Do you have any plans to continue active in the field? If yes, what?
Priit Amer – I believe yes, I’m planning to continue being active in the field, but where there it’s going to be anything other than the role of a participant is difficult to say. I suppouse it all comes down to the offer, ambition & ideas, but right now I don’t have anything concrete…
Daria Filatova – Yeah, I would like to propose some ideas to my local youth centre and start working with them.

 

Would you recommend it to your friends? I yes, why? If not, why not?
Priit Amer – No doubt! It’s interesting, educational, convenient, helpful & just great fun. Plus of course the people you’ve chance to meet will definitely make an impact on you & most probably you’ll become good friends with some of ’em. So I’d suggest to just try it out, cause just like Wayne Gretzky once said, you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take…
Daria Filatova – YES. If you are interested in something and find this opportunity, TAKE IT to learn something new and share your knowledge with people from other countries. It is the best way to find or create something new and unbelievable.

Priit Amer – These possibilities are there for us to use ’em in order to discover, develop, learn & experience and it really is as good as it sounds, so people, please use ’em – worse case scenario you won’t like the experience, but it’ll be an experience nevertheless…
