KOOLITUS
Name of the project: “YouthWork on Migration” Training Course
Date: 7th till 15th October 2021
City/Country: Strasbourg, France
What was the main topic of the event?
Margareeta Rebane – To raise awareness on the topics like migration and mobility and how to improve youthwork that include these topics
Anna Yaroslavskaya – Migration
Evgeniia Borisova – Supporting the professional development of youth workers and raising the quality of our projects concerning Migration and Mobility projects
What was the biggest learning moments on the event for you?
Margareeta Rebane – My biggest learning moments were how to facilitate a good workshop, how to tolerate people with very different values. Or for instance how basically all of the countries have the same problem with media, that it is really negative on the migration topic.
Anna Yaroslavskaya – I learned a lot of new things about migration, learned how to do workshops.
Evgeniia Borisova – Creating my own workshop and participating in many activities from the very first day made a huge impression on me. I also tried to study the ability of facilitators to make strangers feel like a team very quickly. Also, despite the fact that I myself am a migrant, I discovered many new aspects in this topic for myself, especially those related to the problems of adaptation of migrants.
Do you have any plans to continue active in the field? If yes, what?
Margareeta Rebane – Yes, after my bachelor I really want to work on the migration field, before that I was planning to do a workshop on the learnt info and on erasmus+ in my hometown high-school
Anna Yaroslavskaya – Yes, as a participant.
Evgeniia Borisova – Yes, I would like to share my experience with people around me who are also migrants and discuss our actions in this direction. I would also like to take part in similar training courses in the future.
Would you recommend it to your friends? I yes, why? If not, why not?
Margareeta Rebane – I would, because these kinds of projects, I feel like, really widen your perspective on life. You meet so many different countries, people, arguments, perspectives and etc.
Anna Yaroslavskaya – Of course yes. I got to know a lot of new interesting people and improved my knowledge of English language.
Evgeniia Borisova – I would definitely advise my friends to participate in this project. Because for me this experience was unforgettable. In addition to a very good practice of the English language, this project allowed to understand the topic of migration, to expand knowledge of the culture of other participating countries.
