Name of the project: Quality?Y.E.P. – Bringing Quality in Youth Exchange Training Course
Date: 9th until 15th September 2021
City/Country: Thessaloniki, Greece
What was the main topic of the event?
Selman Erkan – The main topic of this project was how to bring quality to youth exchange projects
Katerina Chantzi – How to design quality youth exchanges.
What was the biggest learning moments on the event for you?
Selman Erkan – I have learned quite a lot from this project. I am super happy that I participated it. Every moment of this project was a learning moment for me. I got a chance to get lots of information about youth exchanges and how to write a better quality youth exchange projects.
Katerina Chantzi – During an ice-breaker activity, I noticed and I realised for myself that I have excellent memory skills that I have never paid attention to. Self-realisation was the main learning outcome of this training course for me, as it was a great moment to pause from busy every-day life, take a breath, and reflect regarding myself (my strengths, my passions, and my learning blocks, my social skills and my interaction with the others).
Do you have any plans to continue active in the field? If yes, what?
Selman Erkan – Of course! As I already got quite nice ideas during the training course and we already created our team to create a youth exchange on a specific topic, I would like to continue to and improve our project idea and finally make it happen.
Katerina Chantzi – Firstly, I am planning to stay in touch with the participants that I was working with in my team but also discover further ways to collaborate and bring all our ideas into action, so that we will encourage collaboration between youth organisations across Europe and deliver quality youth exchanges to the future participants.
Would you recommend it to your friends? I yes, why? If not, why not?
Selman Erkan – I recommend this experience to everyone. You will be having an amazing time in a different country, you will be learning lots of new information and practice them if possible and also you will meet with amazing people from different countries.
Katerina Chantzi – Participating in training courses is a great experience that I definitely recommend to everyone to try out! It’s a great opportunity to meet other young people, learn about yourself and your interests and passions, get familiar with non-formal education methods and techniques and acquire new skills and gain further knowledge for topics that are youth-related nowadays in Europe.
More comments or anything else you would like to share? You can add here in your own language, if you want!
Selman Erkan – I am very happy that I had this opportunity to take part of this training course and I would like to thank NYH about this.
