Noored Ühiskonna Heaks (NYH) is promoting a call for participants for a Training Course called “BeHave – Be Smart and Have the Knack” which will take place from 17th until 24th November 2021 in Nicolosi (Sicily), Italy.
“Leaving one’s comfort zone and moving to a foreign country to take part in a volunteering project can lead, once the enthusiasm of the first moments is over, to a situation of loss for the volunteer.
It therefore becomes essential to find tools and figures that can transform enthusiasm into true and profound motivation. From this spirit was born “BeHave: Be smart, Have the knack”, a training course aimed at those youth workers who work with youth mobility programs for voluntary activities, such as European Solidarity Corps, and want to get involved as Hosting Mentor or Supervisor of a mobility project or need to train people within their own organisation who can become a point of reference for the hosted volunteers.
In drafting the project proposal, we wanted to emphatsize the thematic areas that seem to represent the keystone of the architecture of mentoring and supervision: listening skills, risk prevention, conflict resolution, crisis management, the implementation of self assessment.
In addition to these thematic areas, there is an element that is sometimes underestimated in the management of the relationship between mentor or supervisor and the volunteer: coaching techniques. The main objective of
“BeHave: Be smart, Have the knack” is therefore to create a standard that can be replicated and reused by organisations that host volunteers in a personalized way, taking into account the individual specificities of the human resources at stake.
This event will bring together 18 participants from European Union Countries. The event will be held in English. There are 2 vacancies available, and participants should be from older than 18 years old.
The Erasmus + Programme will cover 100% of the accommodation, food and activities and will reimburse 100% of the travel costs for the participants – up to 360 euros. There will be a participation fee of 40 Eur. per participant.
