Noored Ühiskonna Heaks (NYH) is promoting a call for participants for a Youth Exchange called “EU & YOU” which will take place from 10th until 18th May 2021 in Bansko, Bulgaria.
The general objective of the EU&YOU is to ensure understanding of the European idea, European citizenship and values and encourage sense belonging to the European family as well as promote volunteering as a value and way of young people being active part of civil society. It is crucial in those difficult times for young people across Europe to understand the true meaning of European solidarity.
We aim at achieving recognition for volunteering-its benefits and importance for developing local communities, adapting the belief and motivation to volunteer as a way to be actively involved in civil society. By implementing the project we would like to achieve awareness of youth for their role in the civil society and recognizing volunteering as a way for that.
Moreover, the exchange will also promote sense of belonging to Europe, understanding of European values and concept of European citizenship as well sense of belonging to that. Definitely the self-awareness of the youth in civil society, the need for a sense of initiative, volunteering and social responsibility are some of the most necessary and important results that we expect for the participants, which will of course positively affect the local communities and Europe as a whole. The project will raise awareness among youth about volunteering – its benefits for personal and community development, its importance for the community, will show them how volunteering help solving essential social issues.
This way participants will become aware of the volunteering as a core value, as well as more motivated to be active in their communities through volunteering.
Main objectives of the project:
– provide understanding of the European Union and European citizenship concept by young people
– Encouraging sense of belonging to the principles of the European Union and its values
– Encourage volunteering and active participation of young people in civil society
– Introduce young people the opportunities given by Erasmus+ program and European solidarity corps and encourage their participation
This event will bring together 30 participants from Estonia, Italy, Poland, Spain, United Kingdom and Bulgaria. The event will be held in English. There are 5 vacancies available. The participants should have between 18 until 30 years old.
The Erasmus + Programme will cover 100% of the accommodation, food and activities and will reimburse 100% of the travel costs for the participants – up to 275 euros. There will be a participation fee of 40 Eur. per participant.
