Noored Ühiskonna Heaks (NYH) is promoting a call for 1 Estonian volunteer for the European Solidarity Corps volunteering placement called “Kid in Action 8” for 12 months, which will take place from August 2021 to August 2022 in Skofja Loka, Slovenia.

Description:

The main idea is to integrate 5 volunteers from different European countries into the work of different organizations from the Škofja Loka area, Slovenia, which are active in the field of youth work, social care and education (4 daycare centers for children and youth, project learning for young adults, daycare center for people with minor mental disabilities, 3 schools, 1 residential home for children at risk). The volunteers will have their own basic work place, but during the project period, they will also have an opportunity to experience the work of other project partners and to realize their project within other local organizations to strengthen their involvement in the local society.

Profile of the volunteer:

aged 18-30
resident in Estonia
Volunteer should have self-initiative, motivation, patience, flexibility, open-mindness, creativity, good communication skills, interest in working with children, youth (and adolescents) and they should be able to speak English.
Abilities in music, sport, manual activities, handcrafts, dance, art and multimedia
The future volunteer should bring in their own ideas into the project and be prepared to create, plan and
execute their own projects.has not participated in a long or short term EVS or ESC volunteering project before

Activities of the volunteer:

Volunteers will work 5 days a week (up to 38 hours per week).

Accommodation:

The volunteers will be accommodated in one fully furnished apartment (including gas, water, electricity and Wi-Fi) on the main square of Škofja Loka, an old historical town with about 13,000 inhabitants,

located 25 km north-west from Ljubljana.

Food & pocket money:

The volunteer will receive 347€ for food and pocket money per month.

Local transport:

The volunteer will be provided a bike and bus tickets to move between the workplace and home.

Travel:

The travel costs to the hosting organization and back home will be reimbursed up to 275€.

Preparation:

Noored Ühiskonna Heaks will help with all the preparation for the volunteering experience.
