Summary of the Project:
Many young people are facing unemployment in some countries of Europe, the youth unemployment rate is over 30% and 40%, which makes it an important topic that needs to be paid attention to. This high unemployment rate is due to many different reasons like low educational background, no experience, no skills, high demands from the employers, social difficulties, living in rural areas etc. The reasons list is a very long one. The aim of the youth exchange was to motivate and empower the young people that they can be who they want and that entrepreneurship is an accessible tool for fighting unemployment. We used different methods to analyze our strengths and skills and reflected on it. We talked about different aspects of being an entrepreneur and how to become one. In the end of the project the participants created their own products that they pitched to investors. The project had a strong message: you can make your own job.
Objectives of the youth exchange:
⎯ To discuss the issue of youth unemployment in various European countries
⎯ To make the young people reflect on their abilities, skills and needs connected with the labor market
⎯ To reduce the youth unemployment rates
⎯ To give young people the knowledge and motivation about entrepreneurship and to empower them to try it out
⎯ to bring the young people together from different countries to discuss about different realities, and learning from each other
