Noored Ühiskonna Heaks (NYH) is promoting a call for participants for a Youth Exchange called “Let’s be a Live Legend” which will take place from 31st January until 8th February 2020 in Olsztyn, Poland.
During the exchange all groups will present their national legend, after that they will create their own screenplay about their countries similarities etc. During the project there will be workshops on language animation, team building workshops, ice-breaking games, theater workshops, puppet workshops by using everyday materials (wooden spoon, socks, etc.). As part of the project, we plan a visit combined with workshops at the Olsztyn Puppet Theater, a meeting and workshops with an actor, director Paweł Kisiel. We plan to go out on ice skates together. The end result of our activities will be our theatre/ puppet show, which we will direct together, and it will be based on our regional, national legends. The performance will take place at the Municipal Kindergarten and the Primary School. After the performance, there will be also puppets workshops for children; they will learn from us how to make puppets from everyday materials.
Playing in the theater is for everyone, there are no limits, and we can be who we want no matter who we are, where we come from and what language we use. Through this project, participants will expand their knowledge about theater and develop acting skills. They will learn about other countries: their language, culture and legends. Thanks to this, they will break certain unjust beliefs about these countries and people living there. The project will be positively affecting all participants: develop social skills, cultural and language competences increase their faith in themselves, become more empathetic, aware and sensitive to social problems. They will stimulate their creativity and imagination, change their mentality and become more open.
This event will bring together 25 participants from Poland, Italy, Estonia, Lithuania and North Macedonia. The event will be held in English. There are 5 vacancies available and participants should be from 18 until 23 years old.
The Erasmus + Programme will cover 100% of the accommodation, food and activities and will reimburse 100% of the travel costs for the participants – up to 275 euros. There will be a participation fee of 40 Eur. per participant.
