Noored Ühiskonna Heaks (NYH) is promoting a call for 1 Estonian volunteer for the European Solidarity Corps placement called “Love in Action” for 10 months, which will take place from 8th September 2019 to 5th July 2020 in Lecce, Italy.

Description:
“Love in Action” is a volunteering project based on the concept of spreading love, kindness and care by creating valuable local and international actions in order to fight hate speech, bullying, cyber bullying and racism. Volunteers will support VulcanicaMente in international and local activities, being fully involved and becoming active citizens while creating campaigns and local and international initiatives of their own to raise awareness about these topics.
Location:
Lecce is a beautiful baroque style city in the very south of Italy, in the region of Apulia. More precisely, it is situated in Salento that is surrounded by incredible seaside and beautiful natural sights. Salento is rich in culture and you can ride a bike all year round.
Profile of the volunteer:
- Aged 18-30
- have a good motivation to learn and support VulcanicaMente activities and be interested in the project topic
- be interested in non-formal education and willing to work in a dynamic team
- interested in learning more about mindfulness
- be open-minded and respectful towards other people, space and cultures
- be creative and be proactive by proposing personal projects and ideas
- be eco-friendly and bike-friendly
Activities of the volunteer:
VulcanicaMente works at international and local level, so the volunteers will support local initiatives and European projects. We believe that volunteering is a lifestyle. It offers many great opportunities to share, but also to learn! It requires one ́s dedication, initiative and motivation, but it always pays off. It is totally worth it.
Our organisation is based in Lecce and soon also in San Cesario di Lecce. Volunteers will get the experience of working in both towns, having a chance to explore the Italian NGO activities in two different contexts.

Accommodation:
The volunteers will be accommodated in a Co-living Vulcanicamente House in Lecce.
It is situated 10 minutes walking distance from the city centre. The main bus station is next to the house. Volunteers will share a room with another volunteer of the same gender. The apartment has 2 bedrooms, 1 common space room, 2 bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen.
The rent and expenses of the apartment are covered by the hosting organisation.
Food & pocket money:
Each month the volunteer will receive 300€ for food and pocket money.
Travel:
The travel costs to the hosting organization and back home will be reimbursed up to 360€.
Preparation:
Noored Ühiskonna Heaks will help with all the preparation for the volunteering experience.
