Noored Ühiskonna Heaks (NYH) is promoting a call for participants for a Youth Exchange called “Vote for Your Future” which will take place from 02nd until 11th May 2019 in Milcoveni, Romania.
In 2019 there will be organized European Parliament elections where all member states will decide their MEPs and, according to our partners, the level of information about what happens afterwards in the European Parliament and how the interests of the countries are represented is not clear or even not existent. Young people from small towns or villages do not have political education to understand the fancy words which are included in campaigns.
The mistrust was built in the last 29 years and because and we believe there is a need to educate the young people in understanding better the political system and how it can be improved. Participants have the need to learn why their vote is important at local, national and European level.
The aim of this project is to increase the youth participation in the decision making process at local, national and European level.
Our project objectives are:
- to foster a dialogue between 40 young people from EU countries and politicians during the activity, for a better understanding of the voting and participation process;
- to capacitate 40 participants from 8 EU countries in organizing local campaigns to promote active participation and access to vote for young people, in their countries;
- To increase the knowledge of 40 young people about European Parliament and 2019 European elections;
- to offer a learning dimension about the European institutions and how they are interconnected, for 40 young participants during the project;
This event will bring together 50 participants from Estonia, Netherlands, Romania, Greece and spain. The event will be held in English. There are 10 vacancies available and participants should be 16 until 25 years old.
The Erasmus + Programme will cover 100% of the accommodation, food and activities and will reimburse 100% of the travel costs for the participants – up to 275 euros. There will be a participation fee of 40 Eur. per participant.
