Summary of the Project:
Thanks but No Tanks! was training course about How to use Non-Violent Communication to Integrate Political Dimension in Youth work.
The overall aim of TNT was to create a deeper understanding of the civil society actors and the role we have in our nations and be able to approach it with non-violent communication techniques.
To approach this topic started with exploring the meaning of the words conflict, youth movement, peace etc. and at the same time we followed like an itinerary from social movements for democracy and justice, movements against discrimination and racism and we explored present developments in different European regions, movements born during the economic crisis in Europe and other important actors around the world and especially Europe.
In practical it allows the youth worker to:
- Connecting [youth] policies and educational programmes in their work youth young people;
- Integrating political values and beliefs which reflect on their personal political values and beliefs in the course and to act in a responsible and constructive manner
- Supporting young people in developing political thinking
- Applying democracy and human rights principles
The training gave competence and methods to participants to analyze social conflicts, taught them how to act wisely, and to be active leaders in the civil society.
